FAQs

Can I have massage and physiotherapy on the same day?

Yes this is possible, depending on the recommendation of your physiotherapist or doctor.

How many appointments can I expect per week?

This can be discussed with the therapist during the initial assessment. Typically individuals come 2-3 times a week, and taper off as their condition improves.

What payment options are available?

At Physiotherapy Advanced Rehab we accept any of the following payment options: Extended Health Care Plans (EHC), Motor Vehicle Insurance (MVA), Worker’s Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), Private (out of pocket).

Do I need a doctor referral?

No. However, some insurance companies do require a referral to consider payment for physiotherapy or massage therapy services. Please check with your insurance provider or we can do it for you.

What is included in my appointment?

Each individual will have a customized rehabilitation program created for them by the registered physiotherapist. This can include and is not limited to manual therapy, modalities, corrective taping, and exercise programs. We also believe that keeping you healthy requires good preventative education.

Can you bill directly to insurance?

We would be happy to call your insurance company to determine whether your provider can be billed directly. Most insurance companies allow for direct billing, and we will gladly bill them directly for you. If not then your insurer may require you to assume the cost of your treatments, and we will be happy to assist you in submitting your claims for reimbursement. You will also be provided with a receipt with all the appropriate information to send for reimbursement.

How long are my appointments?

The initial visit will be approximately one hour. Subsequent visits will last approximately 30 minutes to one hour.

What should I wear?

For the initial assessment and subsequent visits, you should wear attire you feel comfortable in. Depending on the area of injury, such as the knee, you should wear something suitable to expose the treatment area.

What can I expect on my first visit?

Your first visit will consist of filling out paper work regarding your insurance coverage (if applicable) and a general in-take form about your overall health. If it is for physiotherapy, one of your therapists will perform an assessment and provide you with treatment. Typically the first visit lasts 1 hour.
